Stanton Ties Whittier Poets

The Stanton Elks came out strong and controlled the first half in their clash against the Whittier Poets, but in the end, the scoreboard told a much different story. Despite Stanton's dominance on the field, the game ended in a 1-1 draw after a tense second half.

From the first whistle, the Elks dictated the pace, creating several scoring opportunities and keeping Whittier on their heels. The Poets struggled to maintain possession and couldn't find a way through Stanton's defense. However, the match took a frustrating turn for the Elks when Whittier was handed a lifeline in the form of a penalty kick. The Poets capitalized, converting the spot kick and taking an unexpected 1-0 lead.

The second half, however, saw Stanton regain control. Their persistence paid off when Francesco De Marco found the back of the net with a powerful strike, assisted by a perfectly timed pass from Victor Malaquias. The equalizer brought life back into the Elks' attack, but despite pushing hard for the go-ahead goal, they couldn't break down Whittier's defense again.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw.
