SANTA ANA, Calif. — The Stanton Elks continued their strong run in Cal Pac play on Saturday afternoon, earning a 4–1 victory over the Simpson Red Hawks.
The Elks got off to a fast start. In the 11th minute, Dani Apata opened the scoring with his second goal of the season. Eleven minutes later, Apata set up Janik Moller, who doubled the lead in the 22nd minute. Stanton carried that momentum into halftime with a 2–0 advantage and full control of the match.
In the second half, Max Hartbaum extended the lead in the 52nd minute with a composed finish to make it 3–0. Simpson responded through Javier Guerrero, who found the back of the net for the Red Hawks and gave his side a much-needed spark.
But Stanton's attack proved relentless. In the 83rd minute, Jacon added his sixth goal of the season, sealing the 4–1 win for the Elks. Stanton dominated statistically, outshooting Simpson 16–1 and maintaining possession throughout much of the match.
While the Red Hawks remain in search of their first win of the season, their energy and persistence showed improvement and promise as they continue to build toward better results.
With the victory, Stanton strengthens its position at the top of the Cal Pac standings. The Elks will step out of conference play next to face Claremont before returning to league action.
